Would you like to try making Narikiri with us and enjoy them over a tea tasting?
Wagashi is a broad term used to describe traditional Japanese confections. "Wa" stands for Japan, and Kashi means sweets or snacks. Wagashi is a compound of Wa, Japanese, and Kashi, or confection. The sound of Kashi changes to Gashi in this case. For example, "Washoku" means Wa (Japan) and Shoku (cuisine).
Wagashi often features beautiful and intricate designs that reflect Japanese culture, making it a work of art and a delicious treat. These have continued to be significant at Japanese festivals, tea ceremonies, and life events and are a part of everyday life for Japanese people.
